Driver trapped after cement truck overturns in West Miami Dade
MIAMI DADE CO., FL – A cement truck driver was airlifted to the hospital after a rollover crash in West Miami Dade early Monday morning.
According to CBS Miami, the crash occurred at about 5 a.m. along Tamiami Trail near the intersection with West Loop Road.
Troopers believe the driver lost control in the westbound lanes of the roadway and crossed into the eastbound lanes before striking a guardrail. The truck then overturned in the roadway, trapping the driver inside.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue extricated the man from the truck with help from a surgical team. He was then flown to Kendall Regional Hospital with serious, potentially life-threatening injuries.
