Woman fatally struck by Brightline Train in Fort Lauderdale

FT. LAUDERDALE, FL – A woman was fatally struck by a Brightline Train in Fort Lauderdale on Monday morning.

According to a report by Local 10, the woman was hit at about 8:30 a.m. while standing on the tracks in the 600 block of Northwest First Avenue near the intersection with Northeast 6th Street.

The woman, who is in her early 70s, was taken to Broward Health Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries a short time later.

No other injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
