Driver fatally hits pedestrian in West Palm Beach
WEST PALM BEACH, FL – EMS crews rushed a male pedestrian to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where they died Monday night after getting hit by a pickup truck.
The pedestrian, 62-year-old Alan Higginbotham, was jaywalking when he was struck by the Ford F-150 on Okeechobee Blvd east on an inside lane, according to CBS 12.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said the crash took place around 8 p.m., and Higginbotham died just before 11:45 p.m. Deputies are working to determine the events leading up to the crash and have not announced formal criminal charges for the 52-year-old driver.
