Car, Publix semi wreck in Miami claims man’s life
MIAMI, FL – A man was airlifted to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital, where he later died after he crashed his car into a Publix semi-truck and a pond Friday.
Once the two vehicles collided on Florida’s Turnpike North, the man lost control of his gray Hyundai and crashed into a canal, Local 10 said. Florida Highway Patrol said the impact caused the car to overturn just before submerging in the water.
Fire rescue crews were able to rescue the man prior to the hospital transportation.
Authorities issued temporary lane closures and reopened the area around 3:30 p.m.
