Train fatally hits person on railroad tracks in West Palm Beach

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – A person had allegedly trespassed and stood still on the train tracks as a Brightline train hit them, resulting in their death Saturday.

The collision happened at 3 p.m. on the 3200th block of Pinewood Avenue, according to CBS 12. The train conductor had blared their horn, pressured on the brakes, and reduced their speed. Despite these measures, a crash was inevitable, and the individual suffered fatal wounds.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office started an investigation. It’s unclear if the victim had suicide ideation when the incident took place.
