1 dead, 1 left injured after pedestrian crash in downtown West Palm Beach
WEST PALM BEACH, FL – A 25-year-old pedestrian died following a collision Saturday morning in downtown West Palm Beach that left her partner in serious condition, according to WPBF.
The fatal incident was reported on a stretch of Banyan Boulevard near Rosemary Avenue.
West Palm Beach Police said two people, ages 25 and 33, were crossing the road on foot when they were struck by a driver going westbound in a 2021 Tesla model 3. Investigators learned that the Tesla was traveling on a green light.
Both victims, described as a couple, were transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where the 25-year-old victim succumbed to their injuries.
The 33-year-old victim, who was rushed to the hospital in serious condition, had to undergo surgery.
While no charges or citations have been announced, an investigation remains in progress.
