Woman, 62, loses life in Wellington hit-and-run
WELLINGTON, FL – A 62-year-old woman crossing Aero Club Drive and South Club Drive died when she was struck by a driver who fled the scene Monday.
WPTV said this crash happened before 5:45 a.m., and the woman was hit by the car’s rear tire and knocked to the ground. As a result, she succumbed to fatal wounds at the scene, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue confirmed.
Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office has identified the woman as Toshimi Janiga, a teacher at Riviera Beach Preparatory Academy.
PBCSO confirmed the suspect’s vehicle was located but did not specify if the suspect had been apprehended and arrested yet.
