1 dies in red light runner crash with Costco truck in West Palm Beach
WEST PALM BEACH, FL – A 33-year-old woman driving a Buick Verado proceeded through a red light, which resulted in her plowing into a Costco Wholesale truck and her death Tuesday.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’sSheriff’s Office (PBSO) told WFLX that the woman was going east on Okeechobee Boulevard coming alongside Jog Road and the truck driver traveling south on North Jog Road toward Okeechobee (passing a green light) when the two vehicles collided before 11:30 p.m.
Deputies said the impact led the woman to immediately succumb to fatal wounds, and the crash left a significant dent in the truck’s passenger side.
Authorities started an investigation but have not included other details, which include the woman’s identity and confirmation of the truck driver’s physical condition. These details will be posted to this news blog once officials announce new developments.
