Man, 49, on scooter sent to hospital after hit-and-run in Miami 

MIAMI, FL – A 49-year-old man on a scooter was hospitalized after he was struck by a driver who ignored a stop sign and then fled the scene Monday. 

This collision occurred at the Delaware Parkway and 20th Street intersection, according to WSVN. The impact left the scooter rider, Gilberis López-Hernández, a Miami resident originally from Cuba, with serious injuries, requiring thigh and knee surgery. 

López-Hernández was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital after the crash and has since been released

Miami Police suspect that the hit-and-run driver was operating a Chevy Camaro or Ford Mustang. Anyone who knows the suspect and their whereabouts or who can provide more information about the crash is asked to contact the police department at the phone number listed in the initial source.
