1 killed in pedestrian vs. train crash on SW 10th St in Delray Beach
ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FL – At least one person lost their life Wednesday morning, August 14, in a train collision on Southwest 10th Street in Delray Beach, according to Delray Beach Police.
The fatal incident occurred at the intersection near Congress Avenue and was first reported at around 8:44 a.m.
Few details have been made available, but Delray Beach Police said a pedestrian was involved in a crash with a train, resulting in fatal injuries.
All eastbound lanes of SW 10th Street were closed in the immediate aftermath. The public was asked to avoid the scene and use alternate routes as crews responded to the area.
By 2:39 p.m., about six hours later, the scene had been cleared and all lanes were reopened to traffic.
