Train fatally strikes male pedestrian in Stuart
STUART, FL – A man who was walking along the railroad tracks near Witham Field lost his life when he was struck by a Brightline train Monday.
WPTV said this collision occurred around 3 a.m. near Southeast Indian Street & Florida A1A when the pedestrian had gone under the crossing gate arms. As a result, he was hit and died from his injuries at the scene.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office and Florida East Coast Railway were both summoned to the scene. They have not provided additional information, including the pedestrian’s name, at this time.
