Pickup truck driver fatally hits impaired woman in Boca Raton
BOCA RATON, FL – A 31-year-old woman who was suspected of being impaired was struck by a pickup truck before 10 p.m. Friday, which resulted in her death.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office told WPTV that the woman, wearing a non-reflective black shirt and jean shorts, had, for reasons unknown, sat on the ground, inserting herself into the outside turn lane of westbound Palmetto Park Road, along State U.S. Highway 441.
After the woman sat down, she was then hit by a 45-year-old man operating a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado truck. Authorities said the man, from Parkland, was approaching a green light when he struck the pedestrian.
The man did not press on his brakes swiftly, which led the woman — Kylee Renee Ahana-Jamile from Boca Raton — to get run over. She succumbed to fatal wounds at the scene.
