Motorcyclist dies following crash with car on State Rd 80 in Belle Glade
PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL — A 28-year-old man lost his life Tuesday night after colliding with a car while operating a motorcycle in Belle Glade, according to WPTV.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said the fatal incident took place in the 22400 block of State Road 80, east of Lakeside Medical Center, at 9:36 p.m.
An early investigation found that the victim, who was wearing a helmet, was riding an R1 Yamaha eastbound on the road. At one point, he attempted to pass a 52-year-old Royal Palm Beach man who was driving a 2008 Pontiac G6. As the motorcyclist started to pass, the Pontiac merged lanes and entered the bike’s direct path.
The rider, who ejected from the motorcycle as it collided with a guardrail, landed on the roadway. First responders pronounced him deceased at the scene.
