Motorcyclist left seriously hurt after crash with SUV in Boca Raton
PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL — A 26-year-old man suffered serious injuries Thursday evening when his motorcycle collided with a sports utility vehicle on State Highway 7 in Boca Raton, reports CBS12.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSCO), the incident took place on a stretch of FL-7 near West Boca Plaza at about 7:15 p.m.
A preliminary investigation found that the victim was operating a Zhejiang ADR-126 in the inside lane of the road. Authorities said he failed to slow down or stop as he approached the back of a Chevrolet Tahoe, whose driver was waiting to make a left turn. Moments later, the motorcycle collided with the Tahoe’s right rear corner, and the impact sent the rider off the motorcycle and into the road’s center lane.
First responders rushed the motorcyclist to a local hospital where, at the time of CBS12’s report, he was listed in serious condition.
