Driver hurt when Coca-Cola semi overturns in Miami Gardens
MIAMI GARDENS, FL – A driver of a Coca-Cola semi-truck was trying to avoid a crash when they lost control of the truck and caused it to overturn, leaving themself injured Thursday.
NBC Miami said the collision took place before 5 a.m. at I-95 South, near Miami Gardens Drive. Footage shows the semi-truck on its side, with a totaled trailer. Several cans of soda and debris were also seen spilled onto the road, making for a messy cleanup.
First responders transported the driver via a medical helicopter to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Officials shut down all of I-95 South between Ives Dairy Road and Miami Gardens Drive to accommodate the scene clearance process.
The driver’s current condition and other information have not been provided at this time.
