Speeding hit-and-run driver crashes into Miami home
MIAMI, FL – A driver traveling at a high rate crashed into a house fence, an awning, and a stop sign along Arcola Lakes Park and then fled the scene Tuesday.
WSVN reported this crash in the area of Northwest 83rd Street and Northwest 13th Avenue. The suspect had stolen a Toyota Corolla and was fleeing from police prior to the collision.
After crashing and damaging the home, the suspect ran away on foot and had allegedly jumped a fence to try and abandon police, leaving the totaled car and debris behind.
The homeowner (who was unharmed) was inside the house at the time of the collision. He speculated the suspect lost control of his vehicle and struck a gate before the car came to rest and leaned against the owner’s mango tree.
At the time of this report, the destroyed vehicle was still on the resident’s property. The suspect has yet to be found.
