Authorities respond to fatal crash in St. Lucie County
ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FL – According to WPTV News, a 33-year-old man was killed in a crash that took place in St. Lucie County on Saturday.
Authorities say the single-vehicle accident took place around 7:00 a.m. near the intersection of Orange Avenue and South Header Canal Road, just west of Florida’s Turnpike.
The driver involved was traveling north on Header Canal Road in a 2018 Dodge Journey SUV when he drove through a stop sign without stopping and through the intersection at Orange Avenue. The driver veered onto the grass shoulder and crashed into a guardrail, which caused the vehicle to flip up and over the canal.
The driver was killed in the accident and pronounced dead at the scene. No other details have been released at this time.
