Hit-and-run in Ft. Lauderdale kills motorcyclist
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – A motorcyclist was killed early this morning in a hit-and-run crash on the South Federal Highway.
According to NBC Miami, the motorcycle was rear-ended by an unspecified vehicle in the southbound lanes of the highway near Southeast 6th Street at about 1 a.m. The victim was then hit by a second vehicle.
The motorcyclist died at the scene of the crash. Their identity is being withheld pending further investigation.
The driver who initially struck the victim fled the scene. The other driver stopped to render aid and cooperate with officers.
