84-year-old man dies 2 days after West Palm Beach scooter-van crash
WEST PALM BEACH, FL – An 84-year-old man succumbed to fatal injuries on Tuesday after he was hit by a vehicle while riding a scooter on Sunday.
This collision happened after 3 p.m. at the Belvedere Road and Pike Road junction. WPTV said the crash occurred when the van driver pursued a turn, leading the scooter and van to collide. As a result, the 84-year-old man collided with the passenger side of the van and was thrown from his scooter.
The scooter rider, whose name was not released, was in critical condition until he was officially declared deceased on Tuesday.
The van driver and passenger were unharmed. It is unclear if the driver was cited or faces pending charges.
