8 hospitalized, woman’s life claimed after semi, van wreck in Davie
DAVIE, FL – A woman’s life was claimed, and eight people were hospitalized following a crash between a semi-trailer and a van Tuesday.
This collision took place around 2:30 p.m. on Florida’s Turnpike South (near Griffin Road), the impact leaving the van with significant damage, NBC Miami reports.
A medical helicopter was seen transporting a person to Broward General Hospital, and the dead woman’s body appeared to have been covered by a yellow tarp.
Two children and one baby were among the involved occupants and were also sent to area hospitals, Davie Fire crews revealed.
Plantation Fire officials confirmed that no individuals from the van wore seatbelts at the time of this serious crash.
