7 injured in major multi-vehicle crash on I-95 in Martin Co.
MARTIN COUNTY, FL – WPTV News reports that seven people were injured in a major crash involving six vehicles on I-95 NB in Martin County on Saturday morning.
Authorities say the accident took place shortly before 10:00 a.m. near mile marker 89, just north of Indiantown. The six vehicles involved in the crash were severely damaged and left all northbound lanes of the interstate completely blocked.
Some victims had to be extricated from their cars by first responders. One person suffered serious injuries and was transported to a nearby trauma center for treatment. Six other people sustained only minor injuries and were transported to another hospital to be evaluated and treated.
The cause of the accident remains unknown at this time. We will update this post as further information is released.
