3 hospitalized after 5-vehicle wreck in West Palm Beach

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – One person was trapped and then extricated, and then, along with two others, sent to a hospital following a five-vehicle collision on Florida’s Turnpike Saturday.

This collision happened before 1 p.m. at mile marker 104, which is between Okeechobee Boulevard and the Beeline Expressway, according to WPTV

First responders issued a trauma alert for the extricated person and airlifted to them via a Trauma Hawk helicopter to a hospital. The two others who were injured were transported via an ambulance to an area medical facility for treatment of unspecified wounds.

There were others who appeared to have sustained unspecified injuries as well who declined to be taken to a hospital.

Officials shut down the north and southbound directions to accommodate the investigation and scene clearance process before later reopening them.
