3-auto crash sends 2 drivers, Miami-Dade officer to hospital

MIAMI, FL – A three-vehicle crash in the West Little River neighborhood sent two civilian drivers and a Miami-Dade School Resource Officer to a hospital Wednesday.

The automobile accident took place before 7 a.m. at the intersection of 95th Street and Northwest 29th Avenue, NBC Miami reports.

The specifics behind this collision are unavailable. However, the source’s video footage suggests the driver of a red sedan had struck a police officer. Either the cruiser or sedan then hit a third vehicle. The impact left the cruiser without a front left tire and damaged the left side.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and paramedics responded to the scene. Initially, they received a call about a necessary extrication. However, upon arrival, they called off that procedure when no one appeared to be trapped.

First responders did not disclose the extent of injuries all occupants sustained but did say the officer was expected to be alright, and she was only taken to the hospital for precautionary measures.
