2 hurt when car sideswipes school bus, overturns in Miami Gardens

MIAMI GARDENS, FL – A driver and passenger of Chevy Equinox were taken to a hospital after they sideswiped a school bus and then collided with another vehicle Thursday.

According to NBC Miami, after the Chevy driver struck the school bus, which happened near Northwest 17th Avenue and Miami Gardens Drive, the Chevy rolled over, which then hit the other vehicle.

Miami Gardens Police also added that the driver sideswiped the bus as the bus driver was pursuing a left turn. Despite the nature of this collision, the seven school children on board the bus were spared from injuries.

First responders said the car passenger was left in serious condition, although they have not specified if the bus driver was injured or taken to a hospital for medical treatment or as a precaution.

New details will be added should they become available.
