1 killed in 4-vehicle accident in Boca Raton
BOCA RATON, FL – According to WPTV5 News, one person was killed in a crash involving 4 vehicles in Boca Raton on Saturday morning.
The accident took place shortly before 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of Dixie Highway and Palmetto Park Road. Authorities say that a 2006 Audi station wagon was traveling at high speeds in the southbound lanes of Dixie Highway when the driver did not stop at a red light at the Palmetto Park Road intersection. The driver of the Audi slammed into a Honda Civic at the intersection that was heading east on Palmetto Park. Two other vehicles stopped at the stoplight were also damaged in the accident.
A passenger of the Honda was thrown from the left back side of the vehicle in the impact and killed. They were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Honda sustained serious injuries and was transported to Delray Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the Audi was also transported to a local hospital, but with minor injuries.
