1 killed, 1 injured in crash near Jupiter
PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL – According to WPTV News, one person was killed and another person was injured in a crash that took place just west of Jupiter on Wednesday.
The accident took place shortly before 5:00 p.m. near the intersection of Iandiantown Road and 125th Avenue / Mellen Road. Authorities say 73-year-old Judy Kriedler was a passenger in a 2008 Toyota Tacoma driven by 72-year-old Daniel Kriedler traveling west on Indiantown. Meanwhile, 16-year-old Kyle Russell was traveling north on 125th / Mellen in a 2015 Hyundai Sonota. The two vehicles both approached the intersection where the Toyota had a flashing yellow light signal and the Hyundai had a flashing red light and stop sign.
The driver of the Hyundai was crossing the eastbound lanes into the westbound lanes but did not notice the Toyota and crashed into the vehicle’s front passenger fender. The Toyota then spun out into a nearby utility pole.
First responders had to extricate one person from their vehicle at the scene. Judy Kriendler was killed in the collision and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Hyundai and a passenger both sustained minor injuries in the crash but were not taken to a hospital for treatment.
