ROYAL PALM BEACH, FL – CBS12 News reports that one person was killed and another person was injured in an accident involving a tractor-trailer in Royal Palm Beach on Thursday.
The crash was reported shortly after 4:30 a.m. near the intersection of Crestwood Boulevard and Southern Boulevard. Authorities say a large tractor-trailer and a small passenger vehicle were involved in a reportedly T-bone style collision.
30-year-old Kyle Dougherty was driving a 2018 Honda HRV westbound on SR-80 when he attempted to turn left into the southbound lanes of Forest Hill Boulevard and crossed into the path of an oncoming tractor-trailer. The tractor-trailer, driven by 53-year-old Jorge Fallas Abarca, had the right of way, and crashed into the passenger side of the Honda.
Dougherty was killed in the accident and pronounced dead at the scene. Fallas Abarca sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
