1 injured as car plows into Lake Worth Beach home

LAKE WORTH BEACH, FL – A driver lost control of their vehicle Tuesday, crashing off East Street and into a home, leaving one person injured.

The collision took place at around 11:45 a.m. in the 500th block of the road, according to CBS 12. Following the initial impact, the driver crashed their vehicle into a nearby column.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue confirmed one person was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. It was not immediately apparent whether that patient was the driver, a passenger, or an occupant of the home.

It was also unclear whether or not the structural integrity of the building was compromised.

Florida Highway Patrol and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office are handling an investigation.

At this time, officials have not formally announced any charges.
