1 hurt, 1 killed in multi-auto crash in Miami Gardens
MIAMI GARDENS, FL – A woman inside a semi-truck died, and a Nissan driver was hospitalized following a multi-vehicle wreck on FL’s Turnpike South Monday.
CBS News said the events unraveled near the exit to NW 199 St. and Hard Rock Stadium when the driver of a big white rig crashed into the black Nissan sedan. The impact of this crash forced the sedan to then collide with another tractor-trailer. The woman from one of the trucks was ejected and fell onto the road again, leading to her immediate death.
After arriving, EMS crews rushed the Nissan driver to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening wounds.
Florida Highway Patrol and crews shut down several lanes on the Turnpike for the scene clearance and investigation. Due to the significance of this crash, traffic delays could be seen for miles.
