1 hospitalized after Palm Beach Co. collisions, fire crews say

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL – Palm Beach County Fire Rescue responded to the scene of two Palm Beach County crashes that sent one person to a trauma center Friday.

CBS 12 said both collisions took place before 7 p.m. and involved drivers hitting power units. The first accident occurred in the area of North Congress Avenue in West Palm Beach. First responders said a driver of a vehicle had collided with a pole. One of the individuals inside the vehicle got either pinned or entrapped and required extrication from fire crews.

The extrication was successfully completed, and ambulance crews took that extricated person to a trauma center for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Florida Power and Light crews pulled up to the scene before 7:30 p.m. for the necessary repairs.

The second collision happened close to the intersection of 10th Avenue North and Boutwell Road. Two vehicles were involved, and one of them had side-swiped an electrical box. The four occupants were evaluated for injuries but were not transported to a nearby hospital.

Florida Power and Light workers also responded to the second crash.
