Two-Car Crash In Jensen Beach Critically Injures Four And Killed One

One person died and four others were taken to a trauma center after a crash in Jensen Beach, according to the Martin County Fire District and Florida Highway Patrol Department.

A 2007 Dodge Ram truck, driven by a 29-year-old Port Salerno resident, was traveling west on Seaway Drive.

At the crest of the South Causeway Bridge, the truck veered into the eastbound lanes and collided head-on into a 1997 Dodge Ram truck driven by a 45-year-old man of Indian River County, according to a Martin County police spokeswoman.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, said Florida Highway Patrol officials.

The 29-year-old driver and three passengers in the truck were transported to a local hospital in Port Salerno. They are in critical condition, a Martin County police spokeswoman said.

Their identities have not been released.

The cause of the car crash is under investigation by the Martin County Police Department’s traffic homicide officers and the Florida Highway Patrol Department.
