Man, 26, Killed In Congress Avenue Crash In West Palm Beach

A two-vehicle crash has left a man dead in Congress Avenue, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

The Palm Beach Sherriff’s Office said it received a 911 call reporting a crash near Prip Mart Valero, Congress Avenue. The crash involved a black Volkswagen Jetta and a green Chevrolet Cavalier. Witnesses described it as a road rage. However, police did not describe the act of road rage.

The Jetta, which was driven by a 26-year-old man, crashed into a tree, police said. First emergency responders arrived at the site of the crash soon after the accident happened and the crash victim was taken to a hospital, where he died.

The Chevrolet was driven by a 21-year-old woman.

According to records, the two knew each other well.  They had been in a tumultuous relationship for three years. However, police have not said if that was a motive for the crash.

The crash is being investigated, authorities said.

Congress Avenue is partially blocked due to the severity of the crash, causing traffic delays. Vehicles on this route are pulling to the roadside to allow crews work. The delay of traffic on this route is due to the severity of the crash. It is best to make use of alternative routes such as Jog Road and Clint Moore Road.

Please drive with caution and stay safe.

West Palm Beach attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck comments on this car crash in West Palm Beach:  “This is a serious accident that unfortunately led to a man of only 26 dying.  It is unclear why the drivers of these cars appeared to have purposely crashed into each other.  Hopefully, for the families sake, they true reasons are learned quickly.  If you’ve been injured in an accident, make sure you are properly represented by an experienced trial accident attorney.”
