High school football player loses leg in suspected drunken driving crash

A high school football player in West Palm Beach, Florida recently had his leg amputated after sustaining injuries from a drunken driver, a report of WPTV stated on October 28.

Information coming from the authorities of the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office revealed that Frank Velasquez, 17, was with another friend on October 27 when the two were struck by a vehicle and pinned to a parked vehicle. Frank, a student at Forest Hill High School, was also the kicker for the school’s senior football team. Reports confirmed that Frank lost a leg while being treated at a hospital. Frank’s friends and teammates were devastated upon learning about the incident as he was one of their favorite players on the team.
