Elderly patient critically injured in Florida ambulance accident

An elderly woman aboard an ambulance was listed in critical condition after the vehicle she was travelling in was involved in an accident in Alachua County, an October 7 article of gainesville.com reported.

Reports revealed that before 10:00 p.m. on October 6, an ambulance containing three people, including a patient, struck a vehicle while on State Road 20. Information coming from the state highway patrol said the ambulance rolled on top of the vehicle after it attempted to avoid a road debris. The patient inside the ambulance, identified as 73-year-old Carolyn Mays, was critically injured from the incident. The ambulance was transporting Mays to UF Health Shands Hospital when the accident happened. The two people from the other vehicles were believed to have sustained serious injuries while the other two inside the ambulance sustained minor injuries.
