Boy in Port St. Lucie sustains burn injuries from fireworks

Authorities in Port St. Lucie reported that fireworks severely injured the hand of a boy at his home on July 6, according to an article of TCPALM.

Port St. Lucie Police spokesperson Sgt. Frank Sabol revealed that shortly after 3:00 p.m. a 14-year-old boy and his younger brother were playing with fireworks in the 3500 block of Southwest Conibear Street. The boys were not far from their home when the explosion occurred. Sabol later confirmed that the fireworks caused serious injuries to the boy’s right hand. The victim, whose name was not revealed, was then airlifted to a hospital in West Palm Beach and is believed to be in stable condition. Authorities are investigating the events leading up to the accident.
